Looking for advice on interior paint…what are people using? The inside of the hull has had numerous paint jobs over the years. It will be hidden by furniture and liners so don’t know why I’m bothering but I feel like i should paint it. Should I use cheap and cheerful interior house paint?

I removed the old console. I’m still not sure if I’ll repair and reuse or if I’ll put the wheel straight onto the bulk head. None of the gauges or switches worked except for the temperature and oil pressure so they need to be replaced. Also there’s loads of holes where gauges and switches have been added and removed in the…[Read more]

I’m part way through a restoration of an Elysian 27. She’s a 4 berth centre cockpit cruiser. When I got the boat it was in usable condition. Engine and gearbox are perfect. Everything else was a bit tired so I decided to gut her! Currently she is on the hard in my back garden. I’ve torn out the V berth, head liner, sole and electrics in the…[Read more]

Hi William, there are a few places that you might be able to find information on or someone who may know. The forum on YBW has thousands of boats, sailors and live aboard and is this most popular one in the UK, http://www.ybw.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?13-Practical-Boat-Owner-s-Reader-to-Reader
If that fails you could then try some facebook groups, https://www.facebook.com/groups/339238193085881/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/168007506654245/
Really hope you find out some information about your past, please let us know if you manage to find a lead and good luck 🙂

Liam replied to the topic Epoxy vs Polyester -Sticth And Glue Canoe in the forum Boat Building 7 years, 7 months ago
Considering the small size of the boat the price difference between epoxy and polyester will be relatively small along with the benefits it offers, I have decided to go with the epoxy.
Which brings me on to a couple of questions:
Can anyone recommend a good epoxy?
What filler should I use?
How much coverage would I get from say 500ml? (Just to…[Read more] -

It’s GRP/Ply. A little work to do to strengthen the superstructure, at the cabin entrance, but nothing major. She just needs looking after again.

Guy Thompson 28 Renovation
Many years ago I used to build the popular Leisure 17’s in a Nissan hut at the back of Stansted airport.
Last year, my wife and I successfully renovated a sorry looking Snapdragon 23 which we still own and use.
