Louis commented on the post, ArmaForm – Rebuilding My Boat From Composite Core 5 years, 4 months ago
From matrix composites locally to me I was quoted 4.94 K-PET100-15 Armacell PET Foam 100Kg/m3 – 15mm per m2 – £13.47 As you’ll know the price is then decided on how you go about laminating it. If you can get hold of some cheap fibreglass woven matting and polyester resin then it can workout fairly affordable. In terms of the pressure points you’d…[Read more]

ArmaForm – Rebuilding My Boat From Composite Core So what is ArmaForm? Well, let’s start with how I discovered it. I remmember the day that I first stepped foot on my Seamaster 950 Flybridge […]

This is interesting, I’m wondering if it can be used under compression points on a sailboat like the mast? Otherwise I don’t see it being a bad alternative, what was the ball park price point? I bought balsa for my recoring project.

I’m not building a boat, I’m repairing/improving one. The urge to be afloat is what drives me on. As mentioned in the article,I’m thinking about the boat and what needs to be done every waking hour and am pouring every available penny into achieving my goal.
To me, a boat,and sailing,represents absolute freedom and if I own a boat,I always have a home.-

Louis commented on the post, Marine Sealants – All You Need To Know 5 years, 9 months ago
Hello Steve – Most Butyl sealants don’t offer any adehsive properties especially Arbomast BR. Arbomast would work fine if you are using other mechanical fittings such as screws, bolts or rivets. With Butyl sealants you are essentially creating a non-setting gasket. If you want to bond the perspex to the fibreglass you must use an adehsive…[Read more]
